Description

This leader plans, develops and directs the activities of the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation Development and Major Gifts area. Plays a critical role in developing new gifts strategies, programs and roadmap for the Foundation. Responsible for strategic planning and initiatives, program development and philanthropic revenue related to principal and major gifts. Leads a team of principal and major giving professionals, while also managing a portfolio of donors and prospects. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring department and division projects and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of organizational goals.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
- Require minimum of ten (10) years of progressive career advancement in a professional fundraising and development career, including five (5) to seven (7) years of experience recruiting, hiring, and managing a professional team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer Master's degree and/or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
- Prefer successful track record of building a major gifts program and fundraising seven-eight-figure gifts.
- Prefer strategic planning experience and skills combined with the ability to build a process and path forward and bring the team along.
- Prefer significant experience in the full breadth and depth of fundraising skills, including major gifts, planned giving, and capital campaigns.
- Prefer strong written and verbal communication skills and diplomacy, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
- Prefer experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
